21 Great Bible Verses For Graduates

Two nights ago we sat at my son, Cole’s junior high graduation ceremony on a football field in Peoria, Arizona. There were well over 3,000 people in attendance; the stands were full! I started to think about my junior high graduation ceremony. I don’t even remember having one! In recent years it seems graduation ceremonies have escaped the confines of college and high school, and we are now celebrating junior high, elementary and even pre-school graduations.

I know many grandparents and parents, like myself, are searching for perfect cards for their graduates and looking for something inspiring, challenging and truthful to write. So here are twenty great Bible verses that, when added to some of your own thoughts and wisdom, will make any graduation card great.

1 Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”

Psalm 105:4 “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek His face always.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

I John 2:6 “Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.”

Philippians 1:6 “And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Psalms 119:105 “How can a young man keep his way pure?  By guarding it according to your word.  With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!”

Micah 6:8 “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

Psalm 20:4 “May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

Mark 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

Psalms 37:4 “Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

James 4:13-16 “Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’ As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil.”

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Numbers 6:24-26 “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn His face toward you and give you peace.”

Psalms 126:3 “The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad.”

Luke 2:52 “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”
